Online Crime Mapping

The Sheriff’s Office uploads completed crime reports to LexisNexis on a daily basis.

VIEW CRIME MAP

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office contracts with LexisNexis to provide crime reporting, community awareness, and data transparency to the public. Citizens can view the reported crimes on a map or in a table.

The Sheriff’s Office uploads completed crime reports to LexisNexis on a daily basis. The data does not include general calls for service or police activity where there was no crime report. In addition, some events are withheld to comply with the law and to protect the rights of victims in cases such as sexual assaults, crimes against children, domestic violence, and medical calls. Case data may change if an ongoing investigation identifies more information about the crime.

Citizens can view the crime categories of crimes reported and click a specific incident to view the following information:

Location
Type the city or area name in the Address field to display that specific area on the map. For example, Fair Oaks, CA 95628, or the ZIP Code to display the area known as Fair Oaks. Date Range
In the menus to the left of the screen, select Date Range to display options for selecting a time frame by interval (day, week, month). Select specific dates with the calendar widget, or to activate a slider to adjust the date range.

City Jurisdictions
In the menus to the left of the screen, click Agency Layers to display the law enforcement agencies providing data for the area currently displayed on the map. Under Sacramento County Sheriff, click City Jurisdictions to add shading to the city areas in the county.

Crime Type
The Events menu shows checkmarks to show the types of crime currently displayed. To see specific crime types, select or deselect the types on the list to display only those types on the map.

Sex Offenders
The data for known sex offenders shown on these maps is from Offender Watch data provided by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Crime Density
The Analytics Layer overlays color on the maps to show where the greatest amount of crime occurs.

Mobile App
A mobile version of RAIDS Online is available for iOS. Do not submit tips through the mobile application. To submit a crime tip for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, use the Sheriff’s Tip Line.
