The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department's Jail Industries Program is operated at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center. Launched in 1994, the program is designed to provide skill training to the inmates, while at the same time producing goods for government agencies and non-profit organizations. Inmates who successfully complete the training are awarded a certificate of completion that outlines the level of competency they have achieved. The program is self sufficient, and is highly regarded in the State of California.
